Description

41 Maxwell Avenue in Westerton, Bearsden, is a building designed by J A W Grant with Raymond Unwin as a consultant, constructed between 1913 and 1915. This English Arts and Crafts style structure consists of a block of five houses arranged symmetrically. It is a single storey with an attic, featuring an advanced central gable and a flat-canopied door located to the right. The main roof has deep eaves supported by timber brackets on either side. The building includes tripartite windows, with the outer windows set in shallow projecting bays positioned just below the eaves. The exterior is harled, with small-paned upper sashes at the ground level and a flat-roofed dormer. The chimney stacks are placed below the apex of the roof, which is covered with red tiles.
