Description
The stable block at Craigengillan, built in the late 18th century, is a two-storey classical structure featuring a harled exterior with a cornice and blocking course. It has an entrance tower that includes a round-arched pend, with a Venetian window above it that breaks the eaves into the tower head. This section is square and topped with a pilastered octagonal cupola, which has round-arched louvred openings and a leaded dome with a weathervane. The building also has round-arched carriage doors and small-pane timber sash and case windows, all covered with grey slates.
