Description

Dumfries House is an exceptionally fine and unspoilt mansion designed in the Adam style. It was built between 1754 and 1759 by William Dalrymple, the fourth Earl of Dumfries. The architects responsible for its design were John, Robert, and James Adam, and their original plans are still preserved at Dumfries House.
