Description
Sorn Manse is a building from the earlier 19th century, with various alterations and extensions made in the late 19th century. The entrance and garden facades are asymmetrical, featuring a wide, shallow projecting gabled bay with two windows on each floor. There are two bays set back, with a door located in the inner bay, which is adorned with a heavy late 19th century doorpiece that has bold consoles and a pediment. The garden front includes two wide bays with a late 19th century two-storey canted bay and two piended, canted dormers. There are single-storey projections on each gable. The building is constructed of rubble with pink ashlar dressings and margins, and it has end stacks and a single flue on the northern gabled bay. The roofs are slate. The interior was substantially remodelled around 1975, which included a columned screen in the hall and various chimneypieces.
