Description
W W Friskin, dated 1938. Small gabled brick-built church with steep slate roof.
W ELEVATION: gabled with cross finial and shaped skews. Gabletted entrance with patterned brickwork in diamond-patterned tympanum. Ashlar door surround. 2 small round-headed windows to each side. Small flat-roofed vestry to N.
SIDE ELEVATION: 4-bay, tall gabled windows breaking eaves with concrete lintels, brick relieving arches and slate-hung sides. Small gabled porch at NW with Venetian window to N and tall stack.
CHANCEL: same roof height, windows beneath higher eaves. Plain E gable with slim buttresses.
Simple railings and ornate steel gates between cross-finialled gate-posts. Brick boundary walls.
INTERIOR: simple aisleless A-frame with plain chancel arch. Alabaster stations of the cross. Timber back gallery with niches.
