41-47 Albert Street, Dundee

49-53 Albert Street in Dundee is a group of three tenement buildings, constructed around 1850, with a third added at the corner of Raglan Street around 1860. These three-storey and attic tenements are built from coursed and squared rubble and feature back platties and ground floor shops.

The elevation facing Albert Street includes two symmetrical tenements, Nos 51-57, which have simple shopfronts and central doors. The centre bays of the upper floors for No 49, which is accessed from a pend on the right, are blind. The inner bays have canted dormers, while Nos 41-47 also feature three bays with ground floor shopfronts, although the bay on the right is blind on the upper floors. The corner is chamfered, and there is a dormer along with a shouldered wallhead stack.

On the elevation to Raglan Street, there are three bays, with the left bay featuring a timber mullion. This side also has a shouldered corniced wallhead stack and a dormer. At the rear, there is a central open-topped semi-circular stair tower with flatstone platforms at each landing.

The buildings have a slate roof with a coped ridge and wallhead stacks, and they feature sash and case windows, primarily with a two-pane glazing pattern.
