Description
8 Craignair Road in Dalbeattie is a row of mid-19th century single-storey and attic cottages. The buildings feature bull-faced granite masonry with polished granite rusticated quoins. Most of the cottages have three-bay elevations, while numbers 8, 9, 10, and 11 have paired two-bay elevations.
The central doors are recessed and framed by polished granite monolithic jambs, with mostly modern doors. Each cottage has single light windows with polished raised granite margins. The windows are sash and case style, with either two or four panes of glazing; however, numbers 1, 2, 7, 8, and 10 have modern glazing. The cottages are topped with good graded slate roofs and have coped rusticated end stacks, along with canted piended dormers.
