37 Nunholm Road, Dumfries

39 Nunholm Road is a villa built around 1820, featuring two storeys and three bays. The building has hood-moulded windows and a piended roof, which includes an unusual cruciform-plan central axial stack for the flues. To the north, there is a full-height addition, likely constructed around 1840, with the roof carried over. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, topped with a slate roof.

The original house has a square central porch supported by paired pilasters, a panelled door with a fanlight, and a cill band at the first floor. It features small-paned sash windows and deeply projecting eaves. The west elevation, facing the garden, has two bays with canted ground floor windows that were added at the same time as the northern extension.

The addition includes a recessed narrow linking bay with round-headed openings, a projecting tripartite window on the ground floor, and two single windows on the first floor. The porch is recessed on the northern flank of the addition.
