Description
This is a later 19th-century ice house situated near Ice Cottage on the Lochinch Heritage Estate. The ice house is constructed of rubble and brick and has a shallow domed form. The north elevation features an advanced, square-headed entrance, which is now blocked. A datestone in the blocking reads "June 1931." The roof is covered in foliage. The interior was not inspected in 1999. The ice house is shown on Ordnance Survey maps, first appearing in 1896. Ice Cottage is not included in the listing.
