Description

Mansefield is a former manse that primarily dates from the late 18th century but includes earlier elements. It has undergone repairs in 1722, 1736, and later. The building is two stories high with an attic and features a three-bay front, with a rear wing added, creating a T-shaped plan. The structure is built from rubble with ashlar dressings, all painted.

On the south elevation, there is a shallow central porch that was likely added in the first half of the 19th century. This porch has a piended and platform roof, with a door located in the re-entrant angle. The window cills appear to have been lowered, possibly in the late 18th century, and the upper window has been widened. The windows are 12-pane sashes, and there are two piended dormers. The building has straight skews, corniced end stacks, and a slate roof that sweeps over the eaves. The lower two-story rear wing is not entirely of one build and may encase a circular stair turret. There is also a low lean-to attached to the north gable that extends east.

Inside, the property features six-panelled doors, simple plasterwork, and a re-used Georgian chimneypiece in the sitting room. To the east, there is a garden enclosure that is walled on two sides, with the walls adjoining the house.
