Description

Buittle Bridge is a stone-built bridge completed in 1797, spanning the River Urr near Dalbeattie Burgh on the A711. It features a single depressed arch with dressed ashlar voussoirs, springers, and soffit. The spandrels are made of squared rubble, and the parapet has been rebuilt with rubble and dressed coping. The bridge has a humpbacked carriageway, and on the east side, there are long rubble walls leading to the bridge approaches. The span of the bridge is approximately 90 feet.
