Description

1 Bella Vista in Powfoot is a terrace of nine brick-built houses, designed by Frank C Carruthers of Lockerbie and Dumfries in 1900. Each house has two bays and is a single storey with an attic, featuring wallhead attic gables. The houses are mostly arranged with paired doorways, which have doors topped with tall fanlights. There are 2-light windows in the remaining bays at both levels. The construction uses red brick, complemented by red ashlar cills and lintels, and the roofs are covered with slate and finished with red ridging tiles.
