Description

The Main Building of Dollar Academy was designed by W H Playfair and constructed between 1818 and 1820. It is a classical T-plan structure made of ashlar stone, featuring two storeys and a west-facing frontage with 17 windows. The building has a tetrastyle portico at each end and a hexastyle portico in the center. The interior has been completely renovated following fire damage, and there have been alterations made to the rear part of the building.
