Description
Brucefield House, built around 1724 and restored by James Shearer, is an H-plan structure featuring wings that project slightly. The building is constructed of rubble with ashlar margins. The central block is three stories high and topped with a very tall peind roof that has two chimneys. The west front has four windows, with a coat of arms located at the second floor. There is a four-column Roman Doric porch at the center, which has a high pediment pierced by a roundel. The east front also has four windows, with a fifth window at the first floor. The southern wings are two stories tall, while the northern wings have been raised to three stories, with two windows on the lower floors.
