101 Hanover Street, Edinburgh

105 Hanover Street in Edinburgh is a classical tenement building constructed between 1784 and 1790, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. It stands three storeys high, with a basement and attic, and features six bays. The exterior is made of droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. The ground floor is designed with an arcade, housing two shops that flank the entrance to a common stair. The shops are situated at a half-raised basement level. The building includes a pair of small piend-roofed dormers and timber sash and case windows, mostly with four panes. The roof has ashlar coped skews, with mutual stacks; the southern stack is made of stone while the northern stack is rendered. The roof is covered with grey slates.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property also features plain cast-iron railings with urn finials along the street, and more elaborate Glaswegian style balustrades to the north.
