5 Bellevue Place, Edinburgh

3 Bellevue Place is a classical terrace of three houses designed by John Chesser between 1860 and 1862. The building is two stories with an attic and consists of nine bays, seamlessly continuing the design of the even-numbered houses on East Claremont Street. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features architraved margins. The ground floor has a base course with bracketed cills, a cill band at the first floor, an eaves cornice, and a parapet. The windows are tall and narrow, with the first-floor windows being taller.

On the principal elevation, there are timber panelled doors with fanlights in architraved entrances located in bays 1, 6, and 9. The remaining bays contain windows that follow a regular pattern above. No. 3 has two canted dormers, while No. 5 features full-width dormers. The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are ashlar ridge stacks topped with terracotta cans. The property is enclosed by low coped ashlar boundary walls. The interior was not seen in 1998.
