Description

Calder Road Bridge, located on the Union Canal in Edinburgh, was designed by Hugh Baird and constructed between 1818 and 1822. This bridge features a single segmental skew arch, which is distinguished by its numbered keyblocks. The structure is made of coursed rubble and is wider than other bridges, measuring 30 feet across the parapets. It is also referred to as No. 8 bridge.
