32 Blacket Place, Edinburgh

30 Blacket Place is a pair of classical houses built in the earlier 19th century, before 1833. The buildings are two stories high and have a symmetrical six-bay design. They are constructed of polished sandstone ashlar, with a channelled finish at the ground level and rubble on the sides and rear. The exterior features a base course, a dividing band course, a cornice, and a blocking course, with architraved windows on the first floor.

The northwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, has two central bays that are slightly advanced. It features paired doorcases with fluted Doric columns and pilasters behind the outer columns. The entrance includes a four-panelled timber door, with the door for No 32 having two glass panels, and both doors are topped with plate glass fanlights. There are single windows on the first floor above the entrance and in the other bays. A single-storey wing to the northeast contains a garage door, while another single-storey wing linking to No 34 has two pedestrian doorways.

The windows of No 30 are 12-pane sash and case, while No 32 has 2-pane sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with coped mutual and wallhead stacks.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The property is enclosed by low coped boundary walls, both mutual and along the street.
