Description
4 Canon Street in Edinburgh is a three-storey building with a basement, designed by Robert Brown in 1822 and constructed between 1829 and 1835. The facade features nine windows and a central door, made of droved ashlar with a polished ashlar ground floor, which is now painted. There is a belt course at the first floor level, as well as cill courses on both the first and second floors, along with a main cornice and a blocking course at the top. The roof is slated. The interior has been reconstructed from ruins, and the facade has been extensively repaired. It includes modern 12-pane sash windows and plain modern area railings.
