Description
Airds House, dated 1738, is a three-storey building with five bays, featuring a harled exterior. It has a piended slated roof, dressed stone chimneys, a moulded eaves course, and corner stones. The central pavilion includes a dressed stone pediment with a Campbell armorial panel, flanked by oculi, and a broken pediment above a second-storey window. There is also a segmental pediment, inscribed with '1738', over a pilastered doorway.
Two outlying pavilions, each two storeys high with two bays at their pedimented ends, feature oculi and band-courses. These pavilions are linked to the main building by quadrant walls, which have ball-finials and lean-to-roofed corridors behind them.
At the rear and southeast end, there are additions including a billiard room and a gun room, both dated 1858. The interiors of Airds House are very fine, featuring a winding stair, a morning room, a dining room, and more.
