Description
Ardchattan Priory is a group of conventual buildings that were altered around 1600 and later. The main block stands at 2 and a half storeys high, constructed of random rubble with a gabled, slated roof and dormers. Inside, notable features include the Prior's Room and the Dining Room, also known as the Refectory, which has a 15th-century open timber ceiling and a preserved wall pulpit. There are additions at the rear, built on the site of the cloisters and nave, and at the west end, dating from 1852 and designed in the Scots Baronial style, which includes a significant portion of the main wall of the nave.
