Description
St Moluags Cathedral in Lismore features a chancel that was begun around 1250 and converted into a parish church in 1749. The building is oblong in shape, harled, and has a skew-gabled slate roof with a bird-cage belfry. It includes buttresses and segmental-headed windows, as well as a round arch with hood-moulding on the south side. A modern castellated porch has been added.
Inside, the cathedral boasts an open timber roof, sedilia, and a piscina. The floor level is raised, and there is a grave-slab belonging to Duncan Stewart, the 2nd of Appin. The foundations of the nave and tower are located to the west.
