Description
Kilmodan Church is a Georgian building dating from 1783, designed in a T-plan layout. The front is rendered, while the ends and rear are harled. It features a piended slated roof, band-courses, and segmental-arched windows. There is an inset from an earlier church that includes shields, one of which is inscribed 'SDC/1610.' The church has a central pavilion with oculi and a 'bird-cage' belfry. Inside, the space is lit by a cupola and includes lofts in three arms, as well as two long narrow Communion tables. There is also a memorial dedicated to Rev John Maclaurin, who served as minister from 1689 to 1699, along with tributes to his notable sons.
