No 2, West Range, Plans Of Thornton

No 2, Plans Of Thornton is a single-storey building from the later 18th century, designed in a U-shape with a piend roof. The structure is made of whitewashed rubble, featuring painted margins and droved ashlar quoins.

The north elevation is symmetrical, with a door located to the left of the centre and windows in the flanking bays. There are three windows in the bays to the right, with the central one altered from a door.

On the south elevation, which faces the courtyard, the openings are arranged asymmetrically. The east elevation has a window in the bay to the right of centre and a small window to the outer right, along with two doors in the bays to the left of centre, all situated under a corrugated-iron roof of outbuildings.

The west elevation features a window in the bay to the left of centre and two boarded timber doors to the right, also under a corrugated-iron roof of an outbuilding.

The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a coped ashlar and brick ridge stack with thackstanes and cans.
