Description

Hospitalfield House is a large mansion built in a Baronial style, featuring two and three storeys, with towers and turrets, and ornate detailing. Constructed between 1840 and 1870, it is made of red sandstone and slate, and incorporates fragments from medieval structures. The interiors are noted for their interesting features. The house was built by Patrick Allan-Fraser on the site of the Hospital of the Abbey.
