Description
Braehead is a farmhouse built around 1830, featuring three bays and a single storey with a basement and attic. The exterior is harled with granite margins at the angles and openings. The front has a central door flanked by windows, all with block cornices on brackets and a 12-pane glazing pattern. There are also two canted dormers on the front, straight skews, ashlar end stacks, and a slate roof.
At the rear, there is a large U-plan steading from the same period, constructed of coursed rubble with slated roofs on the long ranges, although part of the cross range has been re-roofed in asbestos.
To the east, there is a detached single storey range designed in a Tudor estate style, similar to the buildings in Monymusk Village Square. This range features a steep pitched roof with irregularly spaced gables on the front, hipped at the east end, and a gable on the west that has been altered to create a large opening with the roof raised to meet the gable.
