Description

This is a railway bridge, constructed between 1852 and 1854 by Alex Gibb. It features a single, semi-elliptical arch built with droved ashlar. The arch is formed of voussoirs, which are raised and jointed, creating a channelled effect. Battered buttresses displaying pulvinated rustication are positioned alongside the arch. A solid parapet runs along the top of the bridge. The bridge’s statutory address is Wardhouse Drive Bridge over Railway.
