Description
The Banchory Curling Pavilion, built around 1886-87, is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular curling house located in Burnett Park, overlooking a curling pond. The exterior features horizontal boarded, painted timber, with rustic tree trunk columns and brackets on later square bases supporting the overhanging eaves on the front and side elevations. The windows are fitted with vertically boarded timber shutters. A lean-to addition made of corrugated metal with a piended roof was added to the rear elevation around 2009.
Inside, as observed in 2014, the pavilion includes timber fixtures and fittings, such as lockers and shelves for curling stones lining the walls.
