Description

Lynturk is an early 19th-century farmhouse, originally likely the manse for the Lynturk Burgher congregation, built around 1774. The building is of 2 storeys and has 3 windows on its front elevation, constructed from rough ashlar granite. An eaves course projects. The gables are narrow and built of rubble, seemingly incorporating older materials. It is probable that the site was previously occupied by the congregation's church, built in 1762, which was absorbed into the farmhouse buildings when a new church was constructed at Buffle in 1791. This church was later replaced by the present Lynturk Church.
