Description

11 Rosebank Place is a later 18th century, three-storey and attic, five-bay terrace house that has undergone later additions and alterations. The exterior features harled walls with finely finished granite around the margins and piend-roofed windows on the third floor that break the eaves.

The south elevation is symmetrical, with a three-bay house on the right. It has a pilastered doorway with a panelled timber door and a letterbox fanlight at the centre of the ground floor, accessed by stone steps. This doorway is flanked by single windows on either side. The first floor has a central window flanked by tripartite windows, while the third floor has small windows in the centre, with windows breaking the eaves on either side. Above, there is a two-pane fanlight at the centre of the attic. To the left is an asymmetrical two-bay block with a pilastered doorway, also featuring a panelled timber door and letterbox fanlight, reached by stone steps. It has a window in the flanking bay to the left and a window to the left on the first and second floors.

The west and east elevations are gabled and obscured by adjoining buildings. The north elevation features a symmetrical three-bay block on the left, with a piend-roofed bay advanced to the centre, having a window in each storey and regular fenestration in the flanking bays. To the right is a two-bay block with a 20th-century canted bay advanced at the ground and first floors, a small arrowslit window on the ground floor, and a single window on the first floor, with irregular fenestration in the flanking bay. The attic has modern and two-pane skylights.

The building predominantly has six-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and features a tiled ridge. Coped stone skews with moulded skewputts are present, though missing on the southwest side. The ridge and gablehead stacks are uncoped and harled, with circular cans. There are cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1999. Simple iron railings lead to the doorways on the south side.
