Description
Kingswells House, located in Kingswells, Aberdeen, dates back to 1666. It is originally a rectangular, two-storey building with a three-window central section, flanked by narrow one-window wings that feature shaped jerkin head gables. The central door is framed by Ionic pilasters, with an elliptical window above it and another elliptical window on the first floor. There is a semi-circular entrance porch that is corbelled to a square shape at the attic level, along with a corner turret and a central rear addition. The interior was completely redesigned in 1855, with details suggesting the work of James Matthews. The house is constructed from stone sourced from the Inverurie area, with a few other fragments located in the garden.
