213 Great Western Road, Aberdeen

215 Great Western Road in Aberdeen is a terrace of cottages built around 1878, consisting of a single storey and attic with 20 bays arranged as 2-bay paired and mirrored cottages. The principal elevation features finely finished, tooled coursed granite at the margins, while the rest of the building is constructed from granite rubble. The base course is rough-faced, and there is an eaves course.

The northwest elevation is near-symmetrical, comprising five pairs of mirrored 2-bay cottages. Each pair has doorways located in the two central bays at ground level, featuring panelled timber doors with glazed upper panels for Nos 211 and 213. The outer two bays of each pair have tripartite windows, while the attic floor includes gabled dormers with decorative bargeboards for the central two bays and canted dormers with dentil moulded cornices for the outer bays.

The southwest elevation is gabled, while the southeast elevation was not visible in 2001. The northeast elevation is also gabled.

The windows are predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case, with some replacement windows noted for Nos 213, 217, 221 (attic floor), and 227 (attic floor). The roof is covered in grey slate with a lead ridge, and features stone skews with blocked skewputts. The gablehead and ridge stacks are made of coped granite and topped with octagonal cans. The property has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The boundary walls consist of low tooled granite walls on the northwest side, enclosing the garden area.
