Description
The Skene Burial Enclosure, located at Mains of Dyce, dates from around 1835 and features Greek architectural elements that suggest the influence of architect William Simpson. The enclosure is rectangular and constructed from rubble, with an ashlar gateway and ashlar detailing at the corners. Inside, the structure appears to be older, showcasing a moulded coping that rises two-thirds of the way up the walls. The enclosure is also notable for its cast iron gates, which display a decorative trellis pattern.
