Description
Newhills Parish Church was built by John Smith between 1829 and 1830. It is a severe, four-bay structure made of pinned squared rubble, featuring a rectangular shape and round-arched windows with simple wood tracery. The east side has a bellcote. The interior remains almost unaltered, showcasing a pulpit with a precentor's box and a sounding board, as well as original pews that bear estate names and include a pew for Bucksburn House. The gallery front displays the arms of Hay of Seaton and the Earl of Fife. Additionally, the session house was constructed by William Henderson in 1866.
