Description

A single-span road bridge, built c.1850, carrying Ganvaughan Road over Killen Burn. Roughly coursed rubble abutments, spandrels and parapets; ashlar sandstone string-course to carriageway level; dressed rockfaced sandstone coping to parapet is rounded to ends. Single segmental-headed arch with dressed rockfaced voussoirs. Arch soffits are cement rendered. The carriageway is approximately 5m wide. Parapet wall continues beyond abutments to rounded end; timber stile to north-east. The bridge is located on a rural road to the west of Castlederg village, where Killen Burn flows into River Derg; riverbank bounded to either side by wire fencing and hedging.
