Description

These are a pair of brick three-storey, two-bay houses located off the East Way, just above Lone Moor Road. They were constructed in 1896 as part of a larger terrace of 22 houses. The houses feature canted bay windows and wall-head gabled dormers, with square-headed openings containing one-over-one timber sash windows. The upper attic level is notable for its unusual design; it is constructed of half-timberwork, creating the aesthetic of an Elizabethan village superimposed on the Edwardian terrace. A partial survey of the buildings was undertaken, and while they hold significant local interest, they do not meet the criteria for statutory listing. This record is based on a survey during the Second Survey, having been previously surveyed in the First Survey.
