The current site is occupied by a modern brick restaurant building featuring a patent glazed facade. This replaces a storey and a half brick building, which was noted to be in need of repair in the early 1970s. The earlier building, dating from approximately 1840 to 1859, was originally recorded in a survey from June 1970. It was a red-brick house with a slated roof and a basement at the rear. The front elevation originally featured two double-hung windows, a six-pane shop window, and double doors topped by a rectangular, patterned fanlight. The recessed entrance was framed by a segmental archway and flanked by two unfluted Doric columns supporting a decorated frieze and small cornice. The fanlight was originally glazed with clear glass, though it was later replaced with obscured glass. The building was formerly used as a house. It has been demolished.
