Allied Irish Bank, Donegall Square East, Belfast, Co. Antrim, BT1

This is a record of a former two-storey commercial building that stood on Donegall Square East, Belfast. It was constructed around 1920. The building had a pitched roof covered with red tiles, with a brick first floor and a rendered ground floor. The symmetrical front elevation featured seven windows on the first floor, with the outer bays projecting to form low towers, each topped with a copper dome. The ground floor was characterized by seven piers supporting shop windows and doors. The building was demolished and replaced with a large, five-storey, stone-clad office block.
