Outbuildings at, 18-20 Orken Lane, Aghalee, Craigavon, BT67 0ED

The outbuildings are located adjacent to a formal, two-storey plus attic, semi-detached, late Georgian house. Most of the larger structures to the south are late 20th century or earlier and have been significantly altered, rendering them of no particular interest. However, the outbuildings to the east are older and more noteworthy, especially those closest to the main house. These form an irregular plan, comprising an L-shaped, two-storey gabled structure. The south section of this structure, running roughly east to west, is built in brick and features a tall square chimney to its west-facing gable. The north section is rubble-built and is likely older. Set at an angle to the north end of the rubble-built section is a lower, square block, also rubble-built, with a broad north-facing gable and a bellcote. The outbuildings date to between 1820 and 1839. The outbuildings have undergone substantial changes, including the removal and bricking up of many openings. The significance of these outbuildings lies in their group collective relationship with heritage records HB14 08 015A and HB14 08 015B; due to alterations and replacements of these adjacent buildings, the outbuildings at 18-20 Orken Lane no longer meet listing criteria. They are currently used as outbuildings and are located in the townland of Ballymacilrany.
