21-29 Main Street, Loughgall, Armagh, Co Armagh, BT61 8HZ

The building at 21-29 Main Street, Loughgall, Armagh, was a two-storey terrace of five houses that has since been demolished and replaced by new houses. Likely dating from the early 19th century – shown on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834 – they were constructed between 1820 and 1839. The terrace was built by Mr Hardy and adjoins his own house, Loughgall House.

The houses were situated on a slope and were covered by two slated roof sections. They had brick chimneys, roughcast walls on a rubble base, and a frontage of approximately 108 feet. The left-hand section featured four first-floor and two ground-floor double-hung windows with small square panes, along with two sheeted doors approached by stone steps, with a double side flight to the left-hand doors featuring a wrought iron handrail. The right-hand section had eight first-floor and four ground-floor double-hung windows of a similar style. The ground floor began with a coachway, a rough flat arch head with a low sheeted gate, then a recent door, a window, another recent door, two windows, a sheeted door, and finally a window, with varying steps leading up to the doorways to align with the footpath. Outbuildings stood at the rear of the terrace.

The terrace was located within the Levalleglish townland and resided within a conservation area.
