Princetown House, 64 Princetown Road, Bangor, Co Down

Princetown House was a two-story dwelling with an attic, situated at 64 Princetown Road, Bangor, County Down. The house has since been demolished and the site cleared. The First Survey card describes the building as having a slated roof with corbelled bargeboards to the gable ends. Rendered chimneys were present, along with rendered and painted walls featuring vermic quoins. A moulded frieze course, flat-faced band course, and moulded base were also noted. The seafront elevation included two attic gabled windows with decorative bargeboards. The windows were of double-height design without astrays. Two outer two-story oriels featured flat roofs and moulded eaves. Double-height windows were also centrally located on the front facade, without astrays, set within a segmental arch head with a moulded architrave. A projecting ground-floor porch had a flat roof, blocking course, and entablature, supported by two square corner columns with narrow lights on each side. The back wall doorway contained a panelled door with plain sidelights extending above the transom to form a three-pane fanlight. Red tiled steps included couchant lion sculptures on side wall pedestals and vases at the lower terrace steps. A seaside boundary wall was constructed of stone rubble with rounded concrete coping. The building was approximately 40 feet wide. The date of the survey was 30/09/1974.
