Lodge at Fir Grove, Belfast Road, Moylinny, Antrim, Co Antrim

The Lodge at Fir Grove was a single-storey, three-bay gate lodge situated on Belfast Road, Moylinny, Antrim. It was likely constructed between 1840 and 1859, appearing on the Ordnance Survey map of 1857, and was demolished in the 1990s. The lodge served as a gate lodge for Fir Grove, a house located to the south-west of the railway line, and was originally associated with it. Fir Grove itself was reportedly of late 18th century date, with mid-19th century and later additions. The lodge had rendered walls and a hipped slated roof with a modern brick chimney. The front entrance featured a glazed door flanked by two-light margin-paned casement windows. Treillage extended from the widely overhanging eaves, and there was a hipped lean-to accommodation at the rear. A single front boundary pier remains as a remnant of the original structure. The lodge was delisted on 8th February 1990, and the site is currently vacant.
