Description
The Church of St Peter and St John is an Anglican church built in 1844 by Benjamin Ferrey. It features random rubble and squared rubble construction, with buttresses that have offsets. The roof is tiled, with coped verges, a cruciform finial at the east end, and a gabled bellcote with a bell at the west end. The church is designed in the Perpendicular style, with a nave that has a continuous chancel and a south porch. It includes two and four-light windows with labels that have carved heads as stops, and simple leaded lights. The gabled porch has a pointed arch outer door opening with paired panelled doors. Inside, the church has a plastered finish on a tile floor and an elaborate tie beam roof. Most of the fittings are from the late 19th century, except for two Jacobean sconces, a chair, and a chest, along with a medieval lectern.
