Description
Easby Mullions is a late 17th-century building, possibly older, that has been converted from two houses into one. It features a rubble exterior and an artificial stone slate roof, and it stands two storeys tall with four windows on the first floor. The building has quoins, and between the third and fourth windows, there is a board door framed by a chamfered surround. To the left of the door is a 2-light chamfered mullion window, both of which are sheltered by a shallow 20th-century open porch with a pent roof. The first, third, and fourth bays have 2-light double-chamfered mullion windows, while the second bay contains a 4-light concrete window that matches the others, replacing a former doorway. On the first floor, there are additional 2-light chamfered mullion windows. The eaves are raised and feature late 19th-century gutter brackets that are moulded like corbels. There are corniced ashlar stacks at the left end and between the third and fourth bays. Inside, the added kitchen includes a former back door framed by a chamfered round-arched quoined ashlar surround, which may date back to shortly after the Dissolution of Easby Abbey.
