Description
Nos 104 and 106 on High Street are two houses that have been converted into a shop with storage above. They date from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 18th century and restoration in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick in a random bond pattern, topped with a pantile roof that features an eaves course of stone slates.
The structure is two storeys tall and has six windows on the first floor. It has a stone plinth and quoins. There are two central doors, each with six panels, where the top panels are glazed. The left door has a four-pane overlight, and there is a canopy supported by wrought-iron brackets over the right door. The windows are sashes with glazing bars set in flush wood architraves throughout. A stone band runs along the first floor, and there is a deep eaves cornice that is supported by moulded wooden brackets. A 20th-century brick stack is located at the right end of the building.
