Description
Lodge house to Copgrove Hall, built in the early 19th century, likely for Henry Duncombe. The building is constructed of ashlar with a grey slate roof and has two storeys and two bays, with the right bay projecting to create an L-plan. The left bay features a four-panel door on the left and a 20-pane sash window on the right. Both the door and window are located beneath a long, flat-roofed porch supported by paired and single Tuscan columns, which have an entablature, deep moulded cornice, and blocking course. All windows are 20-pane sashes set back in rectangular recesses. The building includes a first-floor band, a moulded eaves cornice and guttering, and moulded pediments on the east, north, and south gables. A tall corniced ridge stack is positioned at the center. The yard wall on the west side has a flat coping that is slightly lower than the first-floor band. The building is enclosed by walling that flanks the gate piers.
