Description
The building is an electricity sub-station, originally a chapel of the Knights Hospitallers, which became a grammar school in 1548. It is a rectangular structure made of stone rubble. The gabled front features a projecting strip that creates a panelled appearance. There is a small triangular-headed window at the peak of the gable, along with a central stepped three-light window that has a moulded dripstone, splayed reveals, mullions, and transoms. The entrance is located on the left and has a new lintel with old jambs. The steeply pitched roof is covered with graded stone flags and has moulded coping with springers, finials, and octagonal stone chimneys. On the return sides, there are four "cross" windows that include stone mullions and transoms.
