Description
Number 19 on High Street in Ruswarp is an early 19th-century building that has been refashioned from an 18th-century house. It stands three storeys tall and features channelled rendering. The front has three windows, which are pairs of sash windows without glazing bars. A band continues the cills on the upper storey, and the first-floor windows have stucco surrounds. The central entrance consists of a six-fielded panel door topped with a cornice supported by consoles, leading up to double steps with iron railings. The building also has a cornice and a parapet. The rear elevation is approximately L-shaped and constructed of brick, with irregular window placements. Inside, there is an 18th-century cut string staircase with thin balusters. This building is part of a group that includes numbers 1 to 33 on the odd side of the street.
