Description

Manor Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located on Main Street in Sessay. The building is constructed of red-brown brick laid in an English garden wall bond pattern (five courses of brick to one course of header), with a pantile roof. It is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays, with the right-hand bay being lower and featuring a wing to the rear and an outshut in the angle. A 20th-century gabled glazed porch sits between bays two and three. The right-hand bay has four-pane sash windows with projecting stone sills and flat brick arches. A two-course band runs along the first floor of the left-hand bays. The building has dentilled eaves. Brick stacks are located at the ends of both parts of the building; the stack at the left end is external and rises in a series of zig-zags, featuring dentilled tables.
