Description
Oaker Lodge and the adjoining barns are a farmhouse and barns dated 1838, as inscribed over the entrance. The farmhouse features dressed pink sandstone walls with V-jointed quoins, topped by a graduated hipped greenslate roof with brick and cement-rendered end chimney stacks. The barns are constructed of pink sandstone rubble and have a roof that is partly covered with corrugated asbestos and greenslate. The building stands two storeys high and has three bays, with T-shaped barns to the left. The centre of the farmhouse has a panelled door with a patterned overlight set in a pilastered surround. Sash windows with glazing bars are found in raised stone surrounds. The barns have two recessed bays with doorways and openings also in raised stone surrounds. The left wall of the farmhouse is covered by 20th-century pent extensions. At the rear of the house, there is a round-headed staircase window with intersecting glazing bars. The 20th-century barn additions are not of interest.
